[전화영어] 21.11.10 전화영어 수업 정리 - 전화회의가 끝날 때 인사표현

오늘은 전화영어를 1시간 동안 해야한다.

이전 수업을 미뤘는데 강사를 바꾸기 싫었기 때문에.. 부득이하게 시간을 붙이게 되었는데

대화 중 소재고갈이 우려되어 미리 정리를 좀 해두려고 한다.

간단한 인사에 대한 대답
> More or less ( 좋지도 나쁘지도 않아요 )

- 저번 주 수업을 오늘로 연기했어, 여자친구가 같이 시간을 보내자고 해서 sushi restaurant 예약하고, 맛있는 것 먹고 데려다 줬어.
- 나는 주말에 쉬니까 주말에 만나는게 좋기는 한데, 여자친구랑 스케줄 맞추기가 어려울 때는 평일에 만나
- 여자친구가 우리 동네까지 와줘서 너무 고마웠고, 그래서 내가 맛있는거 사줬어
- 단풍(Fall leaves)이 이뻐서 주변을 걷는데 꽤나 로맨틱 했어.

Maybe you already know it though, I post poned the last class today, Last wednesday, my girlfriend want me to have dinner together so.. that's why. I booked Sushi restaurant nearby then, had great dinner with her.

After we had dinner, I took her home and back to my apartment.

Honestly I was able to have phone English class at that night but, I didn't want to do it on my car.

Well.. anyway it was TMI right?


About my days

일주일간 있었던 일들을 간단하게 정리해서 설명하고 싶었다. 많은 일들이 있었고 다양한 주제로 얘기하고싶었기 때문에.

As for my days for a week.
한 주간 있았던 일을 말하자면..

Recently, I'm fond of reading books and solving algorithm problems.
최근에 나는 책읽는거랑 알고리즘 문제풀이에 빠져있어.

There's a famous web site called Leet code which has a lot of problems I can try.
리트코드라는 사이트가 있는데 내가 시도 해 볼 수 있는 문제들이 많아.

I'm recording how I solve the problems to review my coding skills, and writing solutions to be better.

Healing day on Friday

It was healing day.
금요일은 회사에서 지정한 힐링데이였고 일찍 퇴근하는 날이라서 이 이벤트에 대해 얘기해 보고 싶었다.

I worked for 4 hours then got off work.


Ogarnization. 조직개편 ( Organizational restructuring )

최근 조직개편 준비를 하고있다. 나는 새로운 사람들과 내가 모흐는 분야에 대해 얘기하는게 조금 걱정이 된다.

All the assessment on work has done. ( Normally in October )
We're preparing the next year.

My boss is planning to change the organization so, my team will work with other colleagues.
I've never heard about what they do so, little bit nervous to get together.

In Class

수업 중 실제로 나눴건 이야기 . 기억나는 단어

assimilate

v. 완전이 이해하다, 동화되다, 흡수하다.

 

조직 변경에 대해 얘기하다가 이 단어가 나왔는데, 사람들 끼리 동화된다는 의미로 쓴다는 것은 처음 알게되었다.

내가 알고있는 assimilate 라는 단어는 스타크래프트에서의 assimilator밖에 없는데..

뭐 비슷한 의미겠지만.. ㅋㅋ 같이 융화되는 느낌의 표현으로 쓰는 것 같다.

 

그리고 Netflix black mirror 의 white christmas 편 얘리를 좀 더 하고..

 

Greg은 원래 Offline class를 하는 강사인데 내년 쯤 다시 시작한다고 한다. ( will be back in May. )

No longer phone English... 이쯤 되면 헤어질 각을 잡아야하는걸까.

 

강사 피드백은 나중에 더 정리해 보려 한다.

 

Questions

컨퍼런스 콜을 하면서 조금 어색할 때가 있는데 좀 궁금한 표현들이 있어서 Greg한테 물어봤다.

아래와 같은 표현들을 정리해 두고 종종 꺼내 써야겠다.

 

- 전화를 주기적으로 할때는 See you 가 맞는표현인지? 전화 끊을 때에는 보통 뭐라고 하는지?
>> Good to talk to you.
>> Until next time.
>> Great talking to you.
>> Thank for you time.
>> I appreciate your call.
>> Catch you later.

- 할말 없으면 보통 That's it from our side. from me. Anything else?
>> That's it on our side.
>> That's it on my side.

- 그럼 남은 이야기는 다음에 하자 를 영어로 어떻게 표현할까?
>> I'll get back to you later.
>> Let's continue the discussion on the next call.
>> I will get back to you with the rest of information on our next call.
>> Let's continue this discussion next time.
